Julie Egger, BS, MSW intern

Intern Biblical Counselor

I know what it’s like to struggle under the weight of addiction, abuse, and childhood trauma. I’ve walked through seasons of brokenness, carrying wounds that felt too deep to heal. But I also know the power of surrender—how Christ meets us in the darkest places and brings transformation, even when we feel beyond repair. My own journey of healing has shaped my passion for walking alongside others who are struggling, offering the same hope, grace, and practical support that I’ve received.

I am passionate about serving women, children, and families and I believe true healing isn’t about simply pushing through pain but about surrender—letting go of what we can’t carry alone and allowing God to do the deep work within us. In counseling, I strive to create a space that is honest, compassionate, and rooted in both clinical knowledge and spiritual truth. I don’t believe in empty platitudes or quick fixes. Instead, I believe in real conversations, practical tools, and the courage it takes to lean into healing, one step at a time.

I am currently completing my counseling internship for both my MSW and Biblical Counseling Certification, building on my educational background in social work, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and trauma-informed care. My experience in crisis intervention, addiction recovery, and behavioral health has given me a deep understanding of how trauma impacts behavior, emotions, and relationships. My ultimate goal is to integrate the core values of ABA with trauma-informed care, using the Bible as the foundation for my practice. Through both professional and personal experiences, I have seen firsthand how intentional, faith-centered work can lead to true healing and transformation.

Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, I have a deep appreciation for the resilience of the people in my community. When I’m not working, I love reading mystery books, running, and baking. If you’ve ever felt too broken, too lost, or too weary to keep going—there is hope. Healing is possible. And you don’t have to walk this road alone.
