Sarah Howell, BA

Intern Biblical Counselor

I am a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Services and an emphasis in Child Welfare.  I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Social Work as well as my ABC Level 2 certification.  I spent my undergraduate years working at a domestic violence shelter that provided crisis care to survivors of abuse. I also served as a crisis counselor at a child advocacy center where I met with children and their non-offending caregivers before and after forensic interviews.

I have a passion for helping my clients find the hope that comes from Christ while also coming alongside them as they learn practical ways to cope with the struggles of life. I believe strongly that God uses all things for His glory and our good (Romans 8:28).

I have faced many challenges in my life including the loss of a parent from illness, church hurt, abuse, depression, and anxiety. I understand that everyone’s struggles are unique to them, and I desire to be continually growing in understanding of my clients' stories so as to be able to come alongside them in the most empathetic way possible. There is hope and joy in Christ and His word, and it would be a gift to come alongside you in your walk with Christ, wherever you may find yourself!

In my free time, I enjoy photography, playing the piano, spending time with my nieces and nephews, and having game nights with my friends!
